A Jackson Hole Winter Wonderland Wedding
Last February, I was lucky enough to be the wedding photographer for Neely and Ben’s gorgeous Jackson Hole winter wonderland wedding. Their wedding day was filled with much love. Sometimes, in my work as a wedding photographer, I am moved by the love a family has for one another. That was absolutely the case with Neely and Ben. Not only did they love each other, but everyone present at this intimate winter wedding was very happy to be there in support of this couple.
Neely and Ben’s Sweet Proposal
Neely and Ben are both hunters and share a love for the sport. When Neely got her very first 8 point buck, Ben placed the ring onto its antler, then he took her to the deer. Needless to say, she said YES, and was touched by how perfect the proposal was. That’s the most important thing in a proposal, that it is beautiful and meaningful to the couple. I love it when a proposal story reflects the personalities of the bride and groom.
An Intimate Jackson Hole Winter Wedding
Ben and Neely knew that they wanted to have an intimate destination wedding. If they had their wedding at home, it would be a huge wedding with well over 200 guests. The only stipulation Ben had was NO BEACHES. So they started to plan their destination wedding around the honeymoon. Neely and Ben both love the outdoors and wanted to enjoy some winter weather fun. At first, they considered a destination wedding in Alaska, but they knew it would be asking a lot from their families. They ultimately decided on a Jackson Hole destination winter wedding. I’m so happy they did!
A Moving Wedding Ceremony
Drew and I met up with Neely and Ben to photograph them ahead of their wedding ceremony. Since they chose not to see each other before the ceremony, I photographed the bride and her friends and family as they prepared while Drew photographed the groom. As they separately prepared for the day, there were so many sweet and sentimental moments. Jackson Hole certainly delivered on its promise of a snowy wedding day! The gently falling snow made for a beautiful backdrop through the big windows as they got ready. It was truly a winter wonderland, the snow gently falling from the sky all day.
I loved Neely’s Essence of Australia gown. It had such stunning details like the elegant buttons all the way up the back and the intricate lace in the long sleeves. Combined with her long veil, she looked simply magnificent as she walked down the aisle.
Jackson Hole Winter Wedding Photography
I loved the big, beautiful windows in their wedding venue. Not only did it make for an amazing view but it was a perfect backdrop for wedding photos. When it was time for the bride and groom to share their first dance, it was like the whole world fell away.
Thank you, Neely and Ben, for having me be a part of your beautiful Jackson Hole winter wedding. From the very first photos in the morning to the very end with your sparkler exit, it was my pleasure to be your wedding photographer.
